Who has the most stamina on the dance floor?
Cutlass Creative are presenting Last One Standing, a break(dance) battle set to test the endurance of some of the best breakers in South Australia.
This battle is designed to push the dancers to their limits. During the qualifier all dancers must six step (a fundamental break move of circular footwork) on the same beat until they drop. The top eight dancers will be paired up for one on one battles according to their level of stamina to see who has the best moves during their ten rounds of torture. The two dancers who last the longest will fight it out for the honourable title of Stamina King or Queen.
Judges are Japsta (Fresh Fools) Lonny Lon (Nokturnal/Bad Kidz) and 1/8 Nate (Nokturnal/Fresh Sox). DJ Dreaded (king of the breaks) will be on the decks spinning tunes guaranteed to get the dancers and the audience grooving.
The party kicks off at 8:30pm on Saturday 31 January at Rocket Bar on Hindley Street with $10 entry before 9pm and $15 after (sorry this one is not an all ages event).
Members of Cutlass Creative have been pushing the boundaries in event production and dance battle formats for over a decade. They’ve recently pooled resources and joined forces to test the mettle of the Adelaide break scene and provide a new form of club entertainment for local punters.
Most dance battles take place in private studios or on the street, this is a rare opportunity to witness some of the best breakers in SA battling it out in a club environment. Come along and support the independent dance scene and be wowed by the stamina and creativity of some of the most talented breakers in Adelaide.
