Born in Adelaide but raised in Melbourne, the band’s front woman Dallas Frasca says she’s looking forward to bringing her three piece riff rock band to Adelaide tonight.

“It’s going to be cool because I was born in Adelaide and I don’t get to go there very much. I have a special spot in my heart for Adelaide,” she said.

The recently released, politically inspired “Lizard Boy” has been a slightly different track for the band which Frasca said is about using music as a platform to stand up.

“That song is 100% the collective consciousness of the band’s thoughts right at this moment in the political landscape; and we’ve never really been politically inclined for most of our lyrics but with everything that’s happening, it’s time for people to stand up and use their voice,” she said.

The new album and the film clip for the “Lizard Boy” were funded by a crowdfunding campaign, which Frasca said is a great way to connect with people and keep making the music they want to make.

“We raised $22,000 which has enabled us to make the record we’ve always wanted to make because as an independent band we don’t have any financial backing. Crowdfunding is a really special way of connecting and making people feel part of something,” Frasca said.

Love Army is the new album from the band and it was inspired by the band’s time in Europe last year where they lived in the red light district in Paris.

“We met a group of really cool artists and one particular girl made little men out of recycled hessian bags with beautiful little signs in their hands saying things that would ignite something in your heart or evoke a reaction. She called them her Love Army. I just loved the concept of that. In every song we write, it has to have a powerful and positive message and the Love Army just summed it up,” she said.

With the tour officially kicked off, a new album in the works and the release of the new film clip, Frasca said she is excited about playing a new set with a new line-up.

“We have Zane Rosanoski who used to play drums for Mammal; he’s strong minded and very passionate about a lot of things so he and I have been writing together; and Jeff (Curran) my guitarist who’s just incredible will make his singing debut on the record and we’ve all taken it to a new level,” she said.

The band’s sound which surpasses the three pieces that make up the line-up of Dallas Frasca is sexy, fun and loud; and is rock and roll the way rock and roll should be played.
