Concert at the Cove is returning to the Hallett Cove foreshore this January, and it’s ready to rewind you straight back to the 80s and 90s. This feel-good summer celebration, packed with throwback tunes and good vibes, will take over Heron Way Reserve on Saturday, January 31st, turning it into an outdoor dancefloor, where locals and visitors are invited to spread out a picnic rug, wear their best retro outfits and enjoy an afternoon and evening of music by the sea.
Kicking off at 3pm and going into the evening, this free festival is all about bringing the community together. With the coastline as the perfect backdrop, Concert at the Cove brings together live music, family-friendly entertainment and laid-back summer energy.

The soundtrack to the day leans heavily into nostalgia, celebrating the sounds that defined the 80s and 90s. The Empty Heads, fresh from winning the 2025 Battle of the Bands Open Division, will warm up the crowd early. They’ll be joined by performances from Le Dance Performing Arts School. As the sun begins to set, beloved entertainer Peter Combe will take to the stage with his Bellyflop in a Pizza Band, then DJ Carzi will keep the energy flowing before New Romantics close out the night.
Alongside the music, Concert at the Cove is packed with activities that make it fun for the whole family. From face painting and roving performers to a silent disco and circus workshops, there’s something to keep everyone happy. Food trucks will be on deck throughout the afternoon and evening, making it easy to settle in and stay awhile, while quieter zones and accessible facilities ensure the event remains welcoming and inclusive for all.

Staying true to its retro theme, attendees are encouraged to dress the part, with 80s and 90s-inspired outfits very much part of the fun and prizes awarded for best dressed. It’s a chance to relive old favourites, create new memories, and celebrate summer in one of Adelaide’s most scenic seaside settings.
Supported by the State and Federal Governments through the South Australian Tourism Commission’s Algal Bloom Event Support Fund, Concert at the Cove continues to be a much-loved event on the local events calendar. If your idea of the perfect summer afternoon includes great music, ocean views, and dancing with your community, this is something you’ll want to pop in your calendar.
