Dandelion Vineyards, a name synonymous with exceptional winemaking, is hosting an exclusive Winemaker’s Long Table Lunch on Sunday, August 11th. This special event, held at the breathtaking Firehawk Farm in McLaren Vale, promises an immersive journey into the heart of Dandelion’s biodynamic practices and the unique terroir that shapes their wines.

The lunch will unfold at the stunning Wonder Room, a venue that has captivated wine enthusiasts since its opening in May 2023. Nestled amidst 60 acres of vineyards, the Wonder Room offers panoramic views of McLaren Vale, the Willunga Escarpment, and the Gulf St Vincent, creating an unforgettable backdrop for this culinary and wine experience.

Dandelion Vineyards is no stranger to acclaim. Recently named one of the Top Wineries of Australia 2024 by The Real Review for the sixth consecutive year, their commitment to quality and innovation shines through in every bottle.

Your hosts for the afternoon will be the talented Elena Brooks, winemaker and Director of Dandelion Vineyards, and acclaimed chef Chris Bone. Elena’s deep understanding of the land and vines, combined with Chris’s culinary artistry, will create an afternoon of flavours that showcase the very best of Firehawk Farm.

‘Every long table lunch is unique as we draw on the knowledge and abundance that our local producers provide us”. says Chris Bone. “We dig to see what our Firehawk Farm vegetable patch and surrounding gardens have waiting for us and utilise opportunistic crops, otherwise hard to predict, such as lily pillys along the driveway.

“It’s a chance for us to execute some conceptualized dishes and a chance to introduce some new flavours to the fore of our offering in the Wonder Room. We are excited to host a table of likeminded individuals who truly appreciate the qualities of our considered approach to enjoying food and wine.”

The lunch will feature a curated selection of six Firehawk Farm wines, including the award-winning Firehawk of McLaren Vale Shiraz 2022, which recently took home the Masters Medal at The Global Syrah Masters in London. You’ll have the opportunity to savour the complex aromas and flavours of these wines, while learning about the sustainable practices that make Dandelion Vineyards a leader in biodynamic viticulture.

Firehawk Farm itself is a testament to Dandelion’s commitment to harmony with nature. Forty acres of vines, including Grenache, Shiraz, and Petite Sirah, thrive in the ironstone and limestone-rich soils, protected by the farm’s namesake raptor, the Firehawk. This majestic bird of prey keeps a watchful eye over the vineyards, ensuring the grapes reach their full potential.

Tickets for this intimate event are $180 per person and include a 5-course lunch, wine pairings, and the opportunity to connect with fellow wine lovers in a truly unique setting. Don’t miss this chance to experience the magic of Dandelion Vineyards at Firehawk Farm.
