Tuesday evening, 7th May set off the official launch of upcoming label, Datiro Designs. Local designers and mother-daughter duo, Robyn and Tilly Wood invited guests to join them for champagne and hors d’oeuvres at their King William Road boutique in Hyde Park.

True to their style, the event was chic with a touch of edge. Models showcased the label’s latest trends, posing on a podium located in the centre of the store; while guests mingled amongst luxe fabrics and enjoyed delicate gourmet treats served on platters.

A raffle was drawn for one lucky winner to receive a generous gift of unique Swarovski crystal earrings. The glistening green pair that the lucky winner walked away with is just one of many eclectic pieces that can be found in store. Tilly explains that their fine quality crystal jewellery is a reflection of their aim to cater to those wanting to go straight from day to night. The jewellery can be comfortably worn during day to day business yet is glamorous enough to be used as costume jewellery. All Tessarella jewellery stocked contains Swarovski elements, pearls and/or diamantes.

Sharing their space with Regina Sole Queen, Tilly explains that it is your “one stop shop” where you can walk out with jewellery, clothes, bags and a pair of shoes.  I was equally impressed not only with their range of products but the versatility within each product. Tilly introduced me to their personally designed “charm belt” which can double as a choker necklace as well. The embossed studs on the gold coloured belt/choker add a contemporary element to a classic style. You will find this combination with most of the pieces designed by the two as there is a genuine cross of youthful and traditional input from Tilly, fresh from high school and mother, Robyn.

As the event concluded guests left with goody-bags in hand. The treats were all class – Ferrero Rocher chocolates, jewellery designed by the label, nail polish and a key ring, ending the evening in an appropriately stylish manner.

The unveiling of Datiro Designs is the mark of a new adventure for the Adelaide grown residents and the beginning of something fresh for South Australian fashion. Robyn and Tilly are eager to share more internationally inspired pieces from their endeavours overseas, giving Adelaide consumers a taste of what we’ve been craving.

Next time you are nearby, be sure to stop by 92 – 94 King William Road, and say hello. Robyn and Tilly are passionate about sharing their versatile designs with the community and most importantly, catering to women of all ages; mirroring their timeless mother-daughter fashion affair.
