Vibrant Indian restaurant chain Daughter In Law raised an incredible $121,000 to provide COVID relief for India in the form of medical supplies, funeral services food and oxygen supplies.

Hosting ‘Curry for Relief’ nights across their Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide venues, Daughter In Law sold tickets for $80 per person for guests to enjoy a sumptuous four-course Indian feast by the creative kitchen team as well as a signature Daughter In Law cocktail on arrival and flowing supplies of Cava, in aid of an incredible cause close to their heart.

Generous donations and ticket sales from the Australia-wide events will be shared between three charitable foundations on the ground in India: Khaana Chahiye, Hemkunt Foundation and the SBS Foundation.

Daughter In Law’s Adelaide venue opened at the start of a busy Fringe season in Adelaide and has proved to be a huge success with the local foodie community, with tickets to the Adelaide Curry for Relief selling out completely and owner Jessi Singh’s inbox flooded with messages on other ways people could donate.

“We were amazed by the huge response on social media, selling out the Adelaide event and countless emails coming in from generous people asking how they could donate without attending” he says.

Currently in Byron Bay, Jessi is busy opening a fourth instalment of the successful Daughter In Law franchise, and despite hectic schedule-juggling already has plans to host another Adelaide fundraiser event next month, as India continues to be ravaged by the devastating pandemic.
