McLaren Vale’s favourite June long weekend winery festival, Day Dance, is back this year with an extra special event.
This year’s iteration of Day Dance offers the unique opportunity for ticket holders to walk between Paxton Wines and Simon Hackett Winery as they please at any time throughout the day.
The easy access means people will be able to chase the music line up as they please. From rumblings of 90s pop, to contemporary dance music, to karaoke classics, the dance floor will be calling.
The day begins with a chartered bus ride from one the festival’s five partnering pubs: The Highway, The Ramsgate, The Marion Hotel, The General Havelock and Fat Controller.
As the day progresses, the audience are free to move as they please – stay at their winery of choice, follow the sets they want to dance or sing along to or sample the curated food and wine journey.
“Chef prepared food and food trucks will be available, as well as premium wines and drinks from 23rd St Distillery and Vale Ale Brewing available at both locations,” representative of Day Dance Josh says.
Day Dance was first staged at Simon Hackett Winery in McLaren Vale in 2017.
“From its humble beginnings as a 500 capacity offering, the festival has grown organically each year to become the market’s premier June long-weekend event, last year attracting over 3,000 attendees across four of the region’s favourite wineries; Coriole, Woodstock, Paxton and Simon Hackett Winery,” Josh says.
Paxton are leaders in both organic and biodynamic viticulture and winemaking and Simon Hackett Winery is owned by a fourth generation agricultural family.
Both of the wineries will help deliver an impeccable day of good vibes and great drinks.
At the conclusion of the event at sundown (5pm), chartered buses will return attendees to their pickup locations, who themselves are offering a variety of food, drink and entertainment specials.
