Dead Man’s Cell Phone Opens This Week

The final production in State Theatre Company South Australia’s 2023 Stateside program opens this week

State Theatre Company South Australia is thrilled to be supporting and showcasing other great local theatre companies as part of their STATESIDE program.

Dead Man’s Cell Phone is the final performance in the 2023 program.

An incessantly ringing phone in a quiet cafe. A stranger at the next table who has had enough.

And a dead man – with a lot of loose ends.

Dead Man’s Cell Phone is a wildly imaginative comedy about how we memorialise the dead, and how that remembering changes us. The odyssey of a woman forced to confront her own assumptions about morality, redemption, and the need to connect in a technologically bewitched world.

Join this incredible team of South Aussies for a turn of lyrical satire, bizarre romance and truly magical storytelling.

Dead Man’s Cell Phone is presented by Caitlin Ellen Moore and Tim Overton and is supported by Slingsby and Brink Productions.

Co-produced by Caitlin Ellen Moore under Wicked Good Productions (previously Wickedly Good Productions) and Tim Overton. This is Tim’s biggest independent directorial work to date. Wicked Good Productions has been Caitlin’s producing company since 2019, she started in podcasting and has moved on to produce a number of shows. This is Caitlin’s first new production since being one of Carclew’s Emerging Creative Producers last year. Tim’s extensive devising and development experience includes working with internationally renowned companies Slingsby, Patch Theatre Company and State Theatre Company of South Australia, as well as various independent companies and projects.

Dead Man’s Cell Phone is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.
