Design Awards Set To Recognise The Best Of SA Design Talent

Avid South Australian designers still have a chance to enter their work into the Laminex 2015 DIA SA Design Awards

Celebrating the very best of South Australian design each year the Laminex 2015 DIA SA Design Awards attract an outstanding collection of work from the energetic and talented design community in our State.

The Design Institute of Australia (DIA), Australia’s professional membership body for designers and design businesses, brings together designers from a diverse range of disciplines and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Awards are aimed at evaluating and rewarding design projects by resident South Australian designers. They have the purpose of illustrating and defining today’s design standards and promoting the work of members of the Design Institute of Australia and affiliated organisations to the public.

The three different categories are as follows:

Communication: this includes project outcomes which impart information or stimulate an interchange of thoughts and come from disciplines such as Visual Communication, Digital Design and Exhibition Design

Object: both visible and tangible, these may come from Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Jewellery and Designer Makers.

Many of the previous winners have gone on to win national and international acclaim and with entries still open, this is a designers chance to be recognised for the talent that they have.

“Entering the Laminex DIA South Australian Design Awards is an opportunity to promote excellence in design and innovation in Australia, and shine a light on the world class contribution of South Australian Designers, says both Pru Sanderson, CEO, Design Institute of Australia and Peter Coombs, MDIA State President.
