A popular East Side burger spot, known for its loaded burgers and innovative flavours, has announced its closure after two years of success in Glenunga.
Diamond Burger first jumped onto the scene back in 2023 and quickly garnered a loyal following of people keen to try their creative burger combos. It marks a new chapter for the Diamond Burger crew, as they close the doors to their Glenunga location.

Although it’s not quite the end, alongside their closure announcement, owner Josh Rivers has revealed plans to reopen at a familiar beachside spot.
“We are at the end of our initial terms of our lease, so we’ve decided to move down to my other venue, Cream in Brighton,” shared Josh.
After years in the industry and dreaming of opening a venue of his own, Josh started his cafe, Cream back in 2015. Now, Cream is set to welcome a new addition as Diamond Burger takes residence during the evenings.
“We are expecting our second child in 8 to 10 weeks and we live local to Brighton, so being stretched out all the way between Brighton, Glenunga, and the City spreads us pretty thin.
“We saw the opportunity to condense the restaurants and bring them closer, it made sense from that point of view. With the cost-of-living crisis that’s making things a bit harder, this will help reduce overhead costs and make things easier.
“Cream will just run as is, it closes at 2:30pm to 3pm, and then we’ll reset and the Diamond Burger crew will take over for the evening. There will be no interruptions between either of the venues.”
Located on Jetty Road in Brighton, this is a bustling road filled with restaurants and cafes.
“Brighton’s a great spot for hospitality in general. The local support is extremely strong, and the community really gets behind the shop owners and the shops themselves. Geographically it is also good for people coming down the hill, it’s so close. I think it’ll be a good offer for burgers down south and will service a lot of people.”
Diamond Burger officially closed its doors in Glenunga on January 21st, and is set to reopen out of Cream on January 31st, giving the staff a well-earned break amongst the move. Going forward Diamond Burger will operate seven days a week from 4:30pm.
Josh says that the Glenunga location is going to be available, and is fully fit out! So, if you’re interested in picking up a very versatile kitchen and venue for cheap, you can DM Josh on Cream’s Instagram account for more information.
