Australia will be the first country inscribed on the Constellation Cup after the Diamonds claimed a thrilling 46-40 goal win over the New Zealand Silver Ferns in Auckland yesterday.
With scores locked at three-quarter time, the Diamonds produced a stirring final quarter effort to become the first winners of the new trans-Tasman trophy.
With the Commonwealth Games in less than a month, the Australians’ Series win delivers them gold medal favouritism in Delhi.
The Diamonds will fly back to their home states today.
