After a brief hiatus in 2018, Adelaide’s most glamorous outdoor picnic is returning!
Known for the companies of white clad attendees congregating in a hidden location (only unveiled to a small group), Dîner en Blanc is the one of the most glamorous in the yearly lineup of events and we can announce the date – this year’s event will take place on November 30, 2019.
The opportunity to eat, drink and be merry in a chic (and mysterious) setting whilst enjoying live music and entertainment is quickly approaching as is registration dates.
Dîner en Blanc, if you weren’t aware, was founded in 1988 by Frenchman François Pasquier, who invited a group of friends to attend an outdoor dinner with the requirement that they dress in white so finding eachother would be easy.
From there, Dîner en Blanc has become a worldwide phenomenon with the 2018 event in Paris seeing 17,000 attendants.
Part of the allure of Dîner en Blanc is the set of traditions. The most obvious of which is that the event is all white and that come rain or shine, once you’re in, you will attend.
The 2014, the Diner en Blanc event in Canberra saw heavy rain pour on attendees but that didn’t stop anyone from revelling in the atmosphere.
Dress code is elegant and white only which is pretty evident from photos of the event worldwide. Your table setting is to be all white too.
Other than a chosen few, you won’t know the location, instead congregating at an assigned departure location and a Diner en Blanc volunteer will take you there
New event hosts KN Events, who have jumped on the opportunity to bring the event back said Adelaide audiences should expect the unexpected at this year Dîner en Blanc.
Comprising of Nicole Sheehan, Kerry Headley, and Simon Headley, the trio bring years of experience in event management, hospitality and business to what will be the first of many events in this young and energetic company.
“We are beyond excited to bring this amazing spectacle back to Adelaide. We pride ourselves on the small details, understanding what our guests need and expect, and we can’t wait to showcase fabulous SA food, wine and stellar entertainment in the mystery location.” Said event co-Director Nicole Sheehan of KN Events
As you can imagine, the event is highly anticipated and will receive a lot of interest.
There are three phases for participation in Dîner en Blanc.
Phase 1 is for previous members.
Phase 2 is for new members who are referred by Phase I attendees.
Phase 3 is for people who signed up on the waiting list.
