All right, so we’ve established that it’s cold. Winter has well and truly hit Adelaide and with the non-stop rain and dark days really the only things worth getting out of bed for food and wine.
Luckily, there’s a restaurant we happen to know of that not only serves the perfect winter warmers for your belly but also has an incredible wine list.
Indii Flavours is an authentic Indian restaurant that serves up all your favourite curries such as Butter Chicken and Rogan Josh but also boasts an extensive wine list with an expansive selection of boutique wines from across the world and of course, our own backyard.
But what really sets Indii Flavours apart, is not the fact that they sell the wines, but where you can enjoy them. Located on the bustling North Adelaide strip of O’Connell Street, within the walls of the Indian eatery, lies a wine room stocked wall to wall with the finest drops that have been handpicked to perfectly complement each of the dishes on the Indii Flavours menu.
“All the wines on our list are very much hand-picked with purpose,” says Operations Manager, Kshirod Behera.
“The list took us months to curate and includes wines from around the world and also all of the Adelaide wine regions predominantly the finest drops from Clare Valley.”
Stored in a temperature-controlled environment, guests are invited to enter the exclusive cellar door and peruse the selection at leisure before making a selection to enjoy with their meal.
The award-winning restaurant rose from humble beginnings, with its first location in Clare valley quickly growing a large following and ultimately being awarded the number one restaurant in the region multiple years running.
Group Executive Chef Rupesh and his team then opened their second, urban location in 2019 to the delight of many, bringing the traditionally prepared and handcrafted menu to the masses.
