Discovery Holiday Park’s newest South Australian park will play host to hundreds of enthusiastic caravaners, motor home owners and campers this month when the Australasian Touring, Caravan, Motorhome and Camping Club (ATCM&CC) hosts its 2015 National Rally at Discovery Holiday Parks – Barossa Valley from March 24 to 31.

More than 100 ATCM&CC members from across the country have already confirmed their bookings for the National Rally, which is expected to provide the local economy with a significant economic boost as rally attendees explore the region and its many attractions.

The event is also viewed as something of a coup for Discovery Holiday Parks as, in the words of the company’s CEO, Grant Wilckens, “the ATCM&CC is known to be particular about its choice of venues for these special annual events.”

“We are delighted to be welcoming the ATCM&CC and its many members to Discovery Holiday Parks – Barossa Valley, which we added to our portfolio in August 2014 when we purchased what was then the Tanunda Caravan and Tourist Park,” Mr Wilckens said.

“We are particularly pleased that we have been able to work with the ATCM&CC executive team to create a diverse and interesting program of events and lay on a spread of facilities that meet their every need.”

Events will include wine tasting on site, winery tours and winery bingo; beer tasting and barbecues; professional entertainment and movies each evening; pancake and big Aussie breakfasts to kick-start each day; an orientation drive; a visit to the local produce markets; craft sessions and barefoot bowls; along with a number of still-to-be-revealed freebies provided by Discovery Holiday Parks.

Discovery Holiday Parks – Barossa Valley lies on a beautiful and shady 7.3 hectare site and currently comprises 218 caravan and camping sites, of which 121 are powered, as well as a selection of luxury villas and cabins.

Its facilities include a kiosk, two amenities blocks, two barbecue areas, a fully equipped laundry, a recreational hall that seats up to 130 people and includes games and TV rooms, a community area and a full kitchen, and a soundshell for outdoor entertainment and movies. There’s also a solar heated swimming pool and a bicycle hire facility.
