DJ tunes, live music and markets at Glenelg this Sunday!

Tunes on Chapel: Relax and enjoy the live music and local artists on Sunday afternoons (6 March and 13 March) at Chapel Plaza.

Glenelg is coming to life for two Sundays at Tunes on Chapel – a free, relaxed live music pop-up, perfect for those lowkey Sunday afternoons.

If you find yourself down Jetty Road this Sunday, perusing shop windows or getting a bite to eat with friends, be sure to walk down to Chapel Plaza.

Chapel Street and Hindmarsh Lane recently underwent a $3.6 million upgrade, transforming the space into a new public plaza, fitted out with seating, lighting, public art, and extra greenery to brighten the new spot.

The plaza is now being put to good use and providing us with the opportunity to soak up the sounds and spend some quality time with friends and family. It’s also a great opportunity to have a nose at the new renovations.

First Nations DJ and radio host MozZi will be kicking off 6 March Sunday’s session from 2pm. While Dre ‘MoZzi’ Ngatokorua takes inspiration from a variety of genres and artists across the world, he loves to draw from his Wangkangurru Adnyamathanha, Cook Island and Maori heritage to create his engaging, interactive DJ sets.

Also performing on Sunday is Adelaide-based multi-instrumentalist Rob Edwards. Rob’s sound blends soul, jazz, and blues genres, and layers this with deep lyrical content. Rob has toured with countless artists such as the Wanderers, Germain, and Michael Dunstan, so he will doubtlessly be a great performer to watch.

The tunes wrap is on from 2 – 5pm, but if you’re not quite ready to leave, the Glenelg Sunset Markets will still be going at the Colley Reserve until 8pm (6 March).

On 13 March, DJ beats will continue, as well as performances by CircoBats. CircoBats will be showcasing their incredible skills, as well as hosting a ‘come and try’ zone for the kids.
