As the June long weekend ramps up, dew settles on the gum leaves, and fire pits are stacked to full roar, Sidewood Estate is set to host a cosy event to capture the full ambience.
Think DJ sets to get your body moving and daybeds to stretch out on while you relish in the fact there’s another day off to come.
With glowing embers to gather around and award-winning Sidewood drops to share, the Long Weekender is back for its second year, after selling out in 2024.
Hosted by the crew behind Wines & Good Times, laid-back tunes will be drifting through the air, and drinks will be flowing between 1 and 8pm on Sunday, 8 June, in Sidewood’s stylish backyard.
The Wines & Good Times crew said with last year’s set up, the open fires going and the bocce set-up, it was perfect.
And yes, there’ll be bocce again. Expect a healthy dose of friendly competition, with multiple dedicated lanes running all day. Round up your mates and get that bowling arm ready.
The whole Sidewood wine and cider range will be on offer, and you can sip your favourite drop while taking in the fresh, vine-draped Hahndorf air. Why not grab a bottle and make it a group affair?
Expect some fun updates to the cocktail list, fit for the winter-warming occasion, though final menu selections are still in development.
Music will roll gently through the air all day long, with local DJs jumping on the decks, including Audioporn, Ezee G, Sarez, Souli, and Lesley Williams on vocals.
There was no shortage of atmosphere last year, and coming off a sell-out crowd, Wines & Good Times are kicking it up a notch. You could say there will be more wines and even more good times.
The crew is refining every aspect of the event for an even bigger and better experience that makes the most of Sidewood’s stunning outdoor space.
Getting there and getting home is easy. Leave your keys and let Wines & Good Times take care of the ride. Buses will depart from the CBD at 12:30pm and return after the event wraps up at 8pm, so you can keep the party going. You can prebook a seat on the bus when you secure your tickets.
It’s the kind of event that tailors the experience based on the vibe, and the team will be making little tweaks to get it perfect, right up until the weekend of.
