Port Adelaide will come alive this February with the return of the Dockside Festival, a two-day celebration at the historic Hart’s Mill. On February 8th and 9th, this free, family-friendly festival will honour the riverfront’s heritage while showcasing the creativity and energy of the Port’s local community through music, art, food, and more.

Over the course of the weekend, Dockside Festival will have something for everyone, with a playful program of water activities, live music on the wharf, interactive workshops and creative installations that showcase the best of Port Adelaide’s arts scene. Plus, you can enjoy delicious food from local vendors, while discovering the unique talent that makes this area so special. Food trucks and distilleries confirmed include Pirate Life Brewing, McGregor and Young Distillery (handcrafted spirits and gin), Franklin Harbour Oyster Co, Mayfair Bakery, and Taco Cartel.

A festival highlight will be the Saturday night music program, where the dynamic 12-piece Atlantic Street Band will take to the wharf, getting the crowd moving with their beats, and the soulful harmonies of the Iwiri Choir will fill the air, for a fantastic musical experience.

Beyond the music, the festival will feature a range of performances that celebrate the area’s cultural heritage. The Whale’s Tale by Born in a Taxi is a visually stunning and creative show that combines storytelling, art and performance, offering an experience for all ages. The Snuff Puppets’ The Seagulls will bring something playful and magical to the event, with their puppet performance that’s hilarious for both kids and adults.

For an activity that captures the spirit of the Port in a fun way, Dogs of Port Adelaide is a quirky, free, community-driven photography session for happy dogs and their people. Plus, Thomas ES Kelly’s Shake A Leg, in partnership with Vitalstatistix and Karul Projects, will energise the festival with its high-octane combination of dance, music, and culture. On the water, there’s something for everyone, with a range of activities including Port River cruises (such as twilight ships and the graveyard cruise), Port River Heritage Tours, and a chance to try stand-up paddleboarding.

“We’re thrilled to bring back Dockside Festival for its second year,” Claire Boan, Mayor of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield, said. “This is a free, family-friendly, immersive festival that offers something for everyone. It’s the perfect celebration of the Port, the river, and its people. We encourage everyone to come along to connect with the community and experience the vibrancy and unique character of Port Adelaide.”

Dockside Festival is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the arts, history, and culture of one of Adelaide’s most thriving and historic communities. With its incredible lineup of music, performances, workshops, local food and craft brewers and distillers, this is an event you won’t want to miss this February!
