Man’s best friend is always by our side when we need it most, and today the roles were reversed when two furry friends needed all the manpower they could get to retrieve them from a sticky situation.

The community safety team at City of Port Adelaide Enfield often receive phone calls of distress to attend and assist in a variety of matters, today however was a tug at the heart strings of all dog-lovers out there.

A rescue operation in Valley View saw the City of Port Adelaide Enfield teaming up with the SA Metropolitan Fire Service and RSPCA South Australia to save two dogs that became trapped in a creek.

The two pooches became stuck in the creek located at Thomas Turner Reserve earlier today and with the aid of the fire brigade’s trusty ladder, were rescued in a timely manner and brought to safety.

Both dogs are now in a much warmer location and are being cared for appropriately while the council try to locate their owners for what we can imagine will be a thankful reunion.

Both dogs have now been reunited with their owners with thanks to the power of the internet and the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
