Domino’s causes stir with unveiling of unlikely pizza topping

Some things were just a match made in heaven – bread and butter, pepperoni and pizza, but… baked beans and pizza?!

Some things were just a match made in heaven – bread and butter, pepperoni and pizza, but… baked beans and pizza?! That’s something we haven’t heard of before.

Announcing the mashup none of us saw coming – introducing the Domino’s Heinz Baked Beans Pizza! Would you dare to give this a try?

Domino’s revealed the unlikely pizza topping on social media last night. On a bed of cheese, two cans of Heinz Baked Beans were poured onto the base, topped with ham, pepperoni and a touch of parsley.

Domino’s asked its audience “is this a blessing or a crime?”, prompting thousands of views and hundreds of comments. Trust us, Aussies across the nation didn’t hesitate to voice their opinion on the latest experiment.

A significant division has arose! Many commenters LOVED the new collab, with @Heinz_au, of course, commenting that it is “💯 a blessing – how do we order one?! 👀😍”.

Comically, @qldpolice commented “can confirm a crime has been committed”.

Rebecca Preston, Chief Marketing Officer at Heinz Australia, said: “Heinz Beanz are a much-loved Australian household favourite and what better way to compliment them than having Domino’s cover their iconic pizza base with Beanz.

“We believe Domino’s Heinz Beanz pizza is a blessing. Our only question is, where can we order one, Domino’s?”

You’ll be shocked to know that this actually isn’t the first time Heinz Baked Beans has made a bean pizza! Heinz once produced their own baked bean pizza in the 90s, prompting such nostalgia and Facebook groups calling for the pizza to return (see 90s commercial here).
