Excitement is brewing in Adelaide as rumours emerge about a potential headline act for the VAILO Adelaide 500 After Race Concert Series. On Tuesday morning, on 104.7 Triple M breakfast with Roo, Ditts and Loz, Mark ‘Roo’ Ricciuto dropped a bombshell that Drake might be coming to Adelaide in November, possibly to headline the VAILO Adelaide 500 After Race Concert Series.
“I wasn’t allowed to give it away yesterday, I was sworn to secrecy by the bloke who told me about a big name artist who is coming to Adelaide, similar time as when VAILO is on in November of this year,” said Mark ‘Roo’ Ricciuto.
“I don’t know if he is doing the VAILO, but he is coming to Adelaide at the same time… its coinciding at the same time.
“I think the hotel rooms are booked… he has more rooms then a normal artist.”
If the rumours are true, Drake’s appearance would mark his first performance in Adelaide since 2017, and his first visit to Australia since his acclaimed “Boy Meets World” tour.
The VAILO Adelaide 500, scheduled for November 14 to 17, blends motorsport action and world-class entertainment. While Supercar enthusiasts revel in the adrenaline-pumping races, a major highlight is the After Race Concert Series.
Over the years, the concert series hosted star-studded lineups including Robbie Williams, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Killers, and Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas, among others.
Hopes have been squashed for legendary rock band Pearl Jam to headline this year’s event, despite widespread speculation, but the rumours of Drake taking the stage has excitement levels sky-high.
Adelaide eagerly awaits further announcements regarding who will officially headline the VAILO Adelaide 500 After Race Concert Series.
