South Australians can now enjoy the convenience of Drakes Supermarkets on DoorDash with an exciting 30% discount on initial orders over $50. Explore how this partnership is transforming grocery shopping in SA and QLD.

Residents of South Australia and Queensland now have an improved way to access their grocery needs with the launch of Drakes Supermarkets on the DoorDash app. This partnership, which sees over 46 Drakes stores live on the platform, offers customers the chance to order a wide selection of groceries—from fresh produce and bakery items to pantry essentials and household goods—delivered straight to their doorsteps.

Puji Fernando, General Manager at DoorDash Australia, commented on the launch, saying, “We’re thrilled to bring Drakes to DoorDash, offering our customers in South Australia and Queensland easy access to their favourite groceries. Say goodbye to long grocery lines and hello to saving time!”

Similarly, John-Paul Drake, Director at Drakes, highlighted the benefits of the partnership, “We are proud to partner with DoorDash to bring our last mile services to customers, making it more convenient to get groceries to their door whenever they need.”

Starting as a single store in Adelaide in 1974, Drakes Supermarkets has expanded significantly, celebrating 50 years of service by joining forces with one of the fastest-growing food delivery services in Australia. This move is meant to cater to the increasing demand for convenience and efficiency in grocery shopping.

To mark this significant collaboration, DoorDash is offering a special promotion. New customers who shop from Drakes via the DoorDash app can enjoy a 30% discount on orders over $50 by using the promo code DRAKES30. This offer is available from 19 July 2024 until 30 September 2024, subject to terms and conditions.

The collaboration with Drakes Supermarkets builds on existing partnerships that DoorDash has formed with other grocery giants like Coles and IGA, and local heroes such as Yuen’s in Brisbane. These partnerships are part of DoorDash’s strategy to expand its offerings and provide more choices to its user base. Currently, DoorDash serves over one million customers across Australia, delivering not only food but also grocery items directly to consumers’ doors.

DoorDash, founded in 2013, stands as a substantial technology company that connects consumers with their favourite local and national businesses across more than 30 countries globally. It aims to empower merchants to thrive in the convenience economy, increase consumer access to various services and goods, and offer flexible working opportunities.
