Drink the West’s best on the West Side Gin Trail

With so many distilleries popping up in Adelaide’s Western Suburbs, why not spend the day on a tasting trail to check them all out!

More and more gin distilleries are popping up around South Australia (much to our delight) and some of them are closer than you think.

It wasn’t too long ago Adelaide’s Western suburbs were filled with industrial suppliers and warehouses but now, take a walk around the back streets of Thebarton and you’re likely to stumble across some of the state’s best makers of the juniper drop.

Throw in a few new ones popping up as you move closer to the ocean and you’ve got yourself a full-day activity!  So, why not take yourself on a self-guided tour of what we are dubbing “The West Side Gin Trail”.

We’ve gathered a list of all the locations so all you have to do is pick a date, grab some friends and get tasting! Starting with the locations closest to the city and then working its way out, following The West Side Gin Trail is a gin-ius way to spend a day!

Three Little Birds Distillery
1 /2 34 Henley Beach Road, Mile End 5031

Since opening in 2021, Three Little Birds’ funky city-side cellar door offers guests a trendy spot close to home to sample its growing gin range (which now boasts a Shiraz Gin!). Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the tapas and wood oven pizzas are our choice to go alongside your tasting flight.

Imperial Measures Distilling
31 W Thebarton Rd, Thebarton 5031

Created by two bartenders who wished to make gin rather than just drinking it, Imperial Measures now sell their award-winning gins through their venue in Thebarton and have made quite the name for themselves across Adelaide for making some of the best gins in the business. Pop by their distillery door to taste their gins or a cocktail AND you can even bring your dog!
