Drink Wine & Dine As The Adelaide Guitar Festival Heads To The Hills

Wine, music, food. Considered by ancient civilizations the height of sophistication and culture. And on our doorstep as Sidewood, Maximilians and the Adelaide Guitar Festival team up this August.

An exclusive feast for the senses awaits you at the stunning Sidewood/Maximilians in Verdun this August for the finest of the Adelaide Guitar Festival – the evocative sounds of classical guitarist Slava Grigoryan as you dine on some of the best cuisine in the Adelaide Hills.

Music from the incomparable Festival Artistic Director Grigoryan and Australian String Quartet cellist Sharon Draper will caress your ears and the wine pour endlessly into your glass, as you sit back and enjoy a night of the finery, food and warm fireplaces.

The night includes a superb three-course menu designed by Maximilian’s Head Chef, Jamie Laing. It is a fitting spread of modern European cuisine to warm on a winter’s night. The entrée of duck parfait, truffle, quince and melba toast should get your mouth watering. A main of Coonawarra Sirloin, honey glazed carrots, melted onion and a red wine jus will follow and to finish is a rich Adelaide Hills baked nashi pear, oat crumble and whiskey custard. The delicious meal will be paired with complementary wines from the range of wines Sidewood have to share and delight in.

In case you didn’t know already, Sidewood is a James Halliday 5 star rated winery, and their wines just keep racking up the awards, including the recent ‘World’s Best Shiraz (Rhone Varietals) over £15’ for their 2013 Mappinga Reserve Shiraz at the 2016 Decanter World Wine show. A range including their 2015 Chardonnay, 2014 Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir will be available to purchase and enjoy at your own leisure on the night. Bring a long straw and keep the bottle to yourself.

This is what a winner looks like. The 2013 Mappinga Shiraz.
