If you’ve always dreamed of driving a supercar, there’s a pretty epic opportunity coming your way this May.
Prancing Horse, who organise luxury driving tours from beautiful destinations, paired with the finest restaurants and hotels in Australia, are bringing a new series of Supercar Drive Days to Adelaide.
Experience the best of South Australia on a Supercar Drive Day through the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley, featuring the brand new Ferrari 488 GTB and Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4.
Starting exclusively from Mount Lofty House, experience some of the finest exotics on a spirited drive day through the Adelaide Hills, including a degustation lunch at the award-winning Hentley Farm Restaurant.
Readied with an espresso and a private introduction to a stable of different supercars (valued at A$2M), depart via the summit of Mount Lofty into the beautiful Adelaide Hills.
Launch through a blur of autumn colours, winding between the towns of Montacute and Lobethal; arriving for morning tea at the famous Bird-In-Hand Winery.
Track north for Applewood Distillery in Gumeracha; crafting rare wines and spirits with Australian botanicals.
Slip into another exotic, as the terrain softens to a rolling landscape of vineyards and spansive reservoirs. Cruise through Williamstown into the Barossa for an exquisite lunch at Hentley Farm Restaurant.
Awarded two Chef Hats in the Australian Good Food Guide for 2018 and 2019, Hentley Farm delivers a sophisticated, almost theatrical lunch degustation in the Barossa.
Head Chef Lachlan Colwill serves a seasonal menu aligned with the vineyards and farm – with 90% of all produce sourced and foraged locally from the lands of Hentley Farm and Seppeltsfield.
Return via South Para Road and Chain-of-Ponds before connecting to Gorge Rd; a smooth ribbon of tarmac that carves its way through the ancient hills, trailing the River Torrens down to Kangaroo Creek Reservoir.
Finally, ascend Corkscrew Rd which as the name suggests, winds through the hills before arriving at Mount Lofty House on dusk to relax and unwind in the Arthur Waterhouse Lounge.
This incredibly unique bucket list adventure, lets you take the wheel as part of the ‘self-drive’ experience for two people. There are no instructors, and instead you’ll be following a lead vehicle who will be on hand should you have any questions along the way.
The supercars are ‘semi-automatic’ so you don’t need a manual driver’s licence, but eligible drivers must be at least 25 years of age and in possession of a valid and complete driver licence that has been held for at least 3 years. The minimum age for a ‘non-driving’ passenger is 12 years.
And the price for this amazing experience? Well it doesn’t come cheap, but when you’re experiencing the best of SA, that’s pretty much a given, right?
$2,750 will cover you and your co-driver for the day, which includes pretty much everything across the day.
