Channel 9 last week announced that Anthony Callea, Eddie Perfect and Rhonda Burchmore are among the performers throwing their support behind South Australia’s first televised Easter Appeal in three decades, in a bid to raise $40 million over the next 10 years to support sick children and their families at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
The TeamKids Beyond Bank Easter Appeal – an initiative of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Nine Network – will air live throughout the day on Channel 9 Adelaide on Easter Monday (6 April), including live crosses to the hospital, fundraising events and the call centre.
WCH Foundation CEO Sam Tolley believes the TeamKids Beyond Bank Easter Appeal will inspire strong support from across the community to help achieve this year’s target of $2 million.
“Not only will it rally support for a cause close to the hearts of many South Australians, it will provide a window into the daily life of the hospital, featuring stories about courageous families and the extraordinary staff who care for them through their often difficult health battles,” Mr Tolley said.
“The TeamKids Beyond Bank Easter Appeal will considerably boost our financial support for the WCH, which has totalled more than $30 million over the past 10 years to fund leading technology, vital equipment, family centred facilities and support services, and research.”
As well as making donations on Easter Monday by phone, online and via SMS, people can support the appeal by attending special events, arranging their own fundraisers or donate at any branch of Beyond Bank Australia.
The TeamKids Beyond Bank Easter Appeal event partners include Beyond Bank, Telstra, Channel 9 Adelaide, The Advertiser and Sunday Mail, and the SA Government.
