Renowned author Elizabeth Gilbert, best known for her globally acclaimed work “Eat Pray Love,” is headed to Adelaide next January, offering a unique workshop that promises to inspire and uplift attendees.
Gilbert’s event early next year aims to delve into the depths of love, mercy, and self-discovery, drawing upon her own personal journey of loss, healing, and resilience.
Through a blend of tender anecdotes and insightful reflections, Gilbert invites participants to embrace a spirit of love and compassion, not only towards the world around them but, crucially, towards themselves. With a career spanning multiple bestsellers, Gilbert has garnered a diverse following of readers who have found solace and empowerment within the pages of her books.
In 2006, Elizabeth penned her memoir Eat Pray love, which chronicled her journey alone around the world, looking for solace after a difficult divorce. The book was an international bestseller, translated into over thirty languages, with over 12 million copies sold worldwide.
In 2010, it was made into a film starring Julia Roberts. The book became so popular that Time Magazine named Elizabeth as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Since then, she’s also penned other popular novels Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear which encapsulates the joyful spirit of adventure and permission that she brings to her work and life, and City of Girls which is a rollicking, sexy tale of the New York City theatre world during the 1940s.
For the workshop, Gilbert draws on her own creative process that she used in creating those books, offering profound insights and practical guidance, encouraging attendees to nurture their curiosity and release unnecessary burdens.
