Hotel Alba’s onsite dining destination, ela, is set to embark on its inaugural Winter Wine Series. These events will spotlight prominent South Australian wineries from July through to September. The series aims to highlight the region’s rich viticultural offerings through a curated gastronomic experience.
Kicking off on Friday, 26th July, the first event in the series will focus on McLaren Vale’s Vigna Bottin. This opening night will set the tone for the dinners, each pairing an exquisite menu with fine wines from local vineyards. According to ela’s General Manager, Samantha Farrington, this initiative is designed to capture the essence of the Mediterranean during Adelaide’s colder months. “We are serving a delectable sit-down selection of fresh, seasonal share plates that represent the best of the Mediterranean,” she stated. “Paired with amazing South Australian wines, it’s an indulgence no-one will want to miss.”
Following Vigna Bottin, another McLaren Vale icon, Gemtree Wines will be featured on Friday, 23rd August. As spring approaches, the focus will shift to The Lane Vineyard representing the Adelaide Hills on Friday, 20th September. Details for the final showcase, featuring Seppeltsfield from Barossa Valley, will be confirmed in the coming months.
Each of these exclusive events will be hosted by ela’s Executive Chef Nigel Rich alongside prominent winemakers in ela’s private dining room. The intimate setting, with a capacity of only 26 guests, will allow attendees to get a more personal insight into the nuanced pairings of the food and wine.
In addition to the dinner series, ela’s offers an Express Lunch Menu, available Monday to Friday from 12pm to 2pm, which introduces a new signature dish each week. At only $39 per person, the lunch also includes a drink. For those visiting the poolside venue on the weekend, ela presents a Bottomless Lunch on Saturday and Sunday that consists of a luxurious three-course meal along with a two-hour drinks package. This includes bottomless prosecco, mimosas, gin mixers, tap beers, and soft drinks.
