Elder Park Fireworks For NYE

WELCOME 2011 WITH A BANG!

Welcome 2011 with a fiery bang and celebrate in style with a not-to-be-missed free fireworks extravaganza for all the family.

More than 30,000 people are expected to attend special celebrations at Elder Park on the 31st December organised by Adelaide City Council with activities and entertainment for all ages.

It’s alcohol free with amusement rides for the young and young at heart. There will be plenty of delicious food available in a safe and family-friendly environment.

Festivities kick off from 7.30pm with Adelaide children’s pop sensation The Funkees to set the party mood.

The first of two fireworks extravaganzas will burst across the sky at 9pm, providing a taste of what is to come later at midnight.

Lord Mayor Stephen Yarwood said he was really excited to be able to share the thrill of fireworks with his family and was looking forward to counting in the 9pm family fireworks with The Funkees.

Following the family fireworks, energetic dance act The Touch will get the crowd boogying into the night.

Renowned Adelaide indie rock band The Shiny Brights will then take to the stage in the lead-up to the final countdown, in what will be a fireworks blast to amaze and delight.
