Join thousands of revellers in Elder Park on the beautiful banks of the River Torrens, as the sun sets and the atmosphere builds for a memorable celebration of all that was 2014, on New Year’s Eve from 7pm.

Winner of the 2014 Australian Event State Award ‘Best Community Event’, the free concert kicks off with Corey Theatre, Thom Lion and The Tamers, Alphabette, Prime, Echo and the Empress, and The Timbers. Ryley’s DJ set will accompany the Nine News Fireworks, designed by award-winning Foti International Fireworks, set to light up the riverbank at both 9pm and midnight.

Lord Mayor Martin Haese said New Year’s Eve celebrations in the city are a fantastic tradition for families and friends to get together and celebrate the New Year in a safe, friendly space with the stunning Elder Park Rotunda in full restoration glory.

“This year we launched a new competition searching for local artists to win a gig on the NYE stage. With partners Nine News, BankSA and Fresh 92.7, we’re proud to announce local up-and-coming producer Prime has won a special place in this year’s line-up,” said Martin.

Council recently released the 2 year Live Music Action Plan, which commits to showcasing South Australian talent and audience development. We proudly provide unique and high profile pathways of exposure for South Australian musicians and audiences through this dynamic event.

Returning this year is the BankSA Customer Lounge, with BankSA customers able to enjoy access to an exclusive bar area within the New Year’s Beer Garden.

“Together with our stunning fireworks, powerful music program and great array of food and beverages in the most relaxed environment, NYE in Elder Park promises to be a brilliant night out in the city to celebrate 2014 and welcome the start of new possibilities,” Martin said.

Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Stephen Mullighan MP said for the first time, fireworks will be set off from the new Riverbank Footbridge.

“The footbridge will be a magnificent launch pad for a fireworks display to bring in the New Year,” he said.

Food and beverages available from the licensed beer gardens, and as with previous years BYO alcohol is not permitted.

This event is built upon the investment and support of our principal partner Nine News, and event partners, BankSA, Fresh 92.7 and Novatech Creative Event Technology.
