Lloyd Brothers are hosting an incredible historic vintage tour of their vineyard and winery where they produce their premium produce.
It’s the most important time of the year for any winemaker and now, you can experience just what goes down during vintage season at one of McLaren Vale’s most prominent and well-known estates.
As a third-generation South Australian Vigneron, Lloyd Brothers owner David Lloyd is carrying on his grandfather’s legacy through his vineyards, highlighting the premium produce from the estates.

Lloyd Brothers have been perfecting their craft since the early 2000’s and are now inviting the main person in the process, the consumer, to get a rare insight into just how they go from grape to glass.
The journey begins with a guided tour through the Estate’s vineyard and historic olive grove where you’ll be enriched with knowledge on what it takes to create the quality Lloyd Brothers produce we know and love.
From there, you’ll go one of two ways depending on which experience you chose. Those who opted for the Vintage Experience and Estate Tasting will end their exclusive tour with a private tasting of the Estate’s current release wines paired with produce from the estate.

And for those who wanted that little something extra and added the luncheon, will round out their day nestled amongst the stunning scenery that is the Lloyd Brothers Cellar Door and enjoy a unique feasting experience indulging in gourmet pizzas and fresh platters containing seasonal and regional produce.
Vintage in McLaren Vale usually begins around mid-February and is wrapped up by April however Lloyd Brothers have its own unique timeframe given the wide variety of grapes they grow.
“Given that we grow grapes both in McLaren Vale and up in the Hills, our harvest stretches from the very beginning all the way through to the final stages of the vintage season due to the late-ripening grapes in the Adelaide Hills,” explains Lloyd Brothers General Manager, Sam Temme.

“We’ve actually got a later vintage this year, so it’s worked out quite well to fit in with our tours. The grapes are coming in quite a bit later and the yields are a little low, but the quality so far is looking great.”
With all the fruit grown on the estate, the tours seemed like an obvious step for the Lloyd Brothers team and a chance to leave their guests with a real connection to the property and the produce.
“The winery is less than 10 metres from the cellar door so we can do the tour, show the whole process and then sit down and overlook the wetlands and the olive groves. It really is a great opportunity and something quite unique,” says Sam.
Sitting on the banks of a stunning lake with its famed, purpose-built barrel hall, a visit to the Lloyd Brothers Estate is one that will stay etched in your memory for years to come. The hall itself is a popular site for weddings and events in the area and one look inside will speak volumes as to why.

The estate also happens to be home to the first commercially planted Kalamata olive grove in SA, whose trees bring an air of Southern France to the property.
The Vintage Experience Tours are held for a limited time and will be running from Thursday – Saturday from March 30th through to April 16th.
Prices start at $45 per guest for the Estate Tasting or $80 per guest to include the luncheon.
