CFS volunteer firefighters on 5 fire trucks, supported by Farm Fire Units have now contained the fire at Willalooka, and remain on scene to mopping up and blacking out the fire.Firefighters have prevented the fire from spreading to surrounding farmland, with only a hectare of farming land impacted.SA Police have reopened the Riddoch Highway however, speed restrictions are still in place, as CFS Volunteers are working on and around roads in the area.

Residents in the Upper South East of South Australia are on high alert as a grass fire rages near Keith, specifically at Willalooka. The fire, which has prompted a CFS warning, is currently affecting areas around Riddoch Highway, Cannawigara Road, and Chain Pump Road.
The Country Fire Service (CFS) of South Australia has issued an update regarding the Willalooka Grass Fire, stating that CFS volunteers, equipped with four fire trucks, are actively working on the scene to control and extinguish the blaze. Their efforts are bolstered by the support of Farm Fire Units.
The firefighting operations are receiving additional support from the South Australia Police and the South Australian State Emergency Services (SASES). As a safety measure, these authorities have implemented road closures on the Riddoch Highway, stretching from Chain Pump Road to the North, and on Cannawigara Road to the south of the incident site.
The fire has caused a significant amount of smoke, which is adversely affecting visibility on the roads in the vicinity. Authorities are advising the public to avoid the area unless absolutely necessary, to ensure both their safety and the safety of the emergency personnel who are diligently working to manage the situation.
At this time there is no threat to life or property and firefighters are attending this fire.
