Emirates plans return to Adelaide in major announcement

The airline has revealed it is in close discussions with Adelaide Airport to recommence nonstop services as part of its commitment to reconnect travellers from every corner of Australia to its network.

In a move that promises to reconnect Adelaide with the global map, Emirates is gearing up to recommence its operations in Adelaide. This comes as a part of the airline’s practical approach to expanding its network and offering more flight options to its customers.

The airline has revealed it is in close discussions with Adelaide Airport to recommence nonstop services as part of its commitment to reconnect travellers from every corner of Australia to its network.

Starting November 4, 2023, Emirates is ramping up its services to Sydney with an all-A380 operation. This shift is set to add about 2,000 extra seats weekly, making it easier for travellers to connect to and from Dubai and further to several destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The new service will replace the current Boeing 777-300ER on the EK 416 and 417 routes, offering 489 seats across three classes. This change means more daily seats and a seamless connection with the existing Sydney A380 services, which also feature the latest Premium Economy cabin from Emirates.

At present, Emirates runs 63 weekly services to Australia, providing nearly 56,000 seats through its four primary gateways. This includes daily flights to cities like Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. Additionally, the airline has resumed services from Melbourne to Singapore and connected Sydney with Christchurch, offering the only A380 experience for travellers heading across the Trans-Tasman.

Looking forward to the summer of 2024, the airline plans to introduce the Emirates Airbus A350, a move that will allow for more growth and the opportunity to serve places like Adelaide with long-range aircraft.

The additional Sydney A380 flight will leave Dubai at 2130hrs and reach Sydney by 1820hrs local time. The return flight is scheduled at 2110hrs from Sydney, landing in Dubai at 0430hrs local time.

As Emirates continues to expand its A380 services to meet the rising demand for travel globally, folks in Adelaide can soon expect better connectivity and a fuss-free travel experience. Keep an eye out for more updates as Emirates works to bridge Adelaide with the world, sans the fluff.
