Get ready to be swept off your feet as award-winning star Darren Criss makes his triumphant return to Australia for an electrifying series of concerts. The multi-talented artist, known for his versatility across television, film, music, and stage, will take audiences on a journey through the hits of his career, spanning from Glee to Broadway and beyond.
Accompanied by his four-piece band, Criss will captivate audiences in Adelaide, Melbourne, Tasmania, Canberra, and Sydney in September.
“My first show in Australia in 2018 was so much fun and I am looking forward to coming back with my friends and seeing more of the country. We are taking things up a notch for this tour and I can’t wait to see everyone,” Criss said.
Darren Criss first gained widespread recognition for his role as Blaine Anderson in the television phenomenon Glee. His portrayal of spree killer Andrew Cunanan in the critically acclaimed true crime series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story further solidified his status as an exceptional talent in the industry.
Taking his talents to the Broadway stage, Criss showcased his versatility by stepping into the shoes of Daniel Radcliffe in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
His remarkable performance as J. Pierrepont Finch earned him the Broadway.com award for favorite replacement. In 2015, Criss took on the title role in Hedwig and The Angry Inch, leaving a lasting impression on audiences. Returning to Broadway in 2022, he starred alongside Laurence Fishburne and Sam Rockwell in David Mamet’s Tony Award-nominated play American Buffalo.
Criss’s musical prowess extends beyond the stage, with his debut EP Human soaring to the top of the Billboard Heatseekers chart. His follow-up EP, Homework, made its mark by reaching No. 7 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart. In 2021, Criss delighted fans with his third EP, Masquerade, and his debut full-length Christmas album, A Very Darren Crissmas, which sparked a wildly popular US national tour.
Even before his rise to fame, Criss showcased his creativity by founding the immensely popular group StarKids during his time at the University of Michigan. The group gained a dedicated following through their cult hit A Very Potter Musical, setting the stage for Criss’s future success.
