Enjoy a different side of Hahndorf whilst enjoying delicious German food with After Dark Walking Tours

Walking enthusiasts with an interest in learning more about Hahndorf are encouraged to come along and join the daily Hahndorf After Dark Walking Tour.

Walking enthusiasts with an interest in learning more about the historic town of Hahndorf are encouraged to come along and join the daily Hahndorf After Dark Walking Tour.

The 90-minute tour is organised by the Hahndorf Walking Tours and thanks to a partnership with The Haus Restaurant you can tantalise your tastebuds with a selection of delicious food from the menu available to fill yourselves up prior to the walk.

The Hahndorf Walking Tours group has been running for 11 years in total and the Owner and Operator of the group Sharon Pippos started running the Hahndorf After Dark Walking Tours four years ago.

Sharon says it was created to give people the chance to get a different experience of the main street when it’s not as busy.

“I started the Hahndorf Walking Tours 11 years ago as my family had been in the area since the 1800’s and we wanted to give people a real experience of the main street and it’s abundance of stories and historical buildings,” Sharon says.

“The village can be really busy with over one million people visiting the town every year so I started the Hahndorf After Dark Tours as the atmosphere is different and ambience is really beautiful.

“It gives those involved the chance to see it as how the 3100 residents of the town see it and along the way there are visits by local heroes of the town via technology plus much more.”

Sharon says that The Hahndorf After Dark Walking Tour isn’t a ghost tour and families are welcome. She says it is a good idea to bring your own torch or headlight however there are a limited number of lanterns available.

During the tour you will get the opportunity to learn more about the history of the town including the immigrants that fled from Prussia in 1838.

You will also hear stories about these settlers and the Pioneer Women’s Walking Trail.

There will also be the chance to visit the old mortuary, stone masons, St Paul’s Lutheran Church and other points of interest and intrigue.

Hahndorf Walking Tours has partnered with The Haus Restaurant to provide you with a delicious selection of meals from which to choose from including:

Main course meal from a choice of five options.
• Duo of Wursts
