Festival season doesn’t have to mean summer is over, and with the warm weather plenty, fancying a picnic in one of South Australia’s acclaimed wine regions does wonders.

Whether you’re a fan of changing seasons, tipples of award-winning wine or harbour a hankering for local SA produce, wining and dining alfresco at Tipsy Hill Estate and Pertaringa in McLaren Vale is a must.

Brought to you by the team from Bec Hardy Wines, a premium picnic experience is the way to add luxe to your next intimate catch up with friends, celebrating a bride-to-be or special birthday bash.

“The premium picnic experiences offer a unique, intimate and relaxed setting in our stunning McLaren Vale wine region,” owner and winemaker Bec Hardy says.

“As people increasingly look for different ways to celebrate special occasions, I saw the opportunity to create these one-of-a-kind experiences…. The feedback has been amazing, and we’ve already hosted lots of wonderful people.”

Indulge in a private slice of paradise as you sit atop the rolling hillside of McLaren Vale. A picnic at Tipsy Hill offers panoramic views of the region, nestled amongst one of SA’s most stunning gardens.

In autumn, watch the leaves morph from green to shades of amber, and the gentle wind sets the scene for a long afternoon lunching with friends at hidden gem, Pertaringa. Sprawl out on the lush lawns, sip on a three-hour drinks package while surrounded by your closest.

“As we come into autumn, the weather is still offering plenty of balmy afternoons, perfect for the Bec Hardy Premium Sparkling or our famous Pertaringa Scarecrow Sauvignon Blanc,” Bec says.

“We’re also seeing more people drinking our rosé and lighter reds – and being McLaren Vale, we do of course offer some of Australia’s best Shiraz.”

Indulge in grazing boards filled with local delights like creamy, sharp and blue cheese from Onkaparinga Creamery and Woodside Cheese, framed with McLaren Vale olives, local patés, relishes and trimmings. Championing the distinct flavours of the award-winning region lies not only at the core of the Bec Hardy drops, but the produce they pair alongside them.

“Our philosophy has always been to source local, seasonal produce, supporting other McLaren Vale and South Australian producers,” Bec says.

Leave your picnic rug at home and let the Bec Hardy team take care of you for the day, supplying blankets, a wooden picnic table, cushions, cutlery, and of course: wine and cheese. The premium picnics at Pertaringa and Tipsy Hill is priced at $80 per person, with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 30 per booking.
