The sun is shining, water is gleaming, and swimming lesson programs are officially back for the summer school holidays.

Holiday Swim is a Royal Lifesaving Society SA initiative bringing affordable swimming lessons to families in South Australia.

The aim of the program is to teach children critical life-saving skills and basic swimming skills, to equip them with the knowledge to stay safe in, on and around the water.

Swim & Survive programs for January 2022 still have spaces available for a wide range of locations across the state.

Participants can be enrolled in five days of lessons, at a cost of just $35 per child.

The aim of keeping the program affordable is to reach families and communities that might otherwise miss out on the opportunity to participate in swimming lessons, and as we approach the busy Summer months now is the time to equip them with the knowledge to save a life.

Such affordable lessons mean that the programs can reach families who would otherwise miss out on the opportunity to participate in swimming lessons.

Holiday Swim has been running its school holiday programs since the 1950s to teach children critical swimming and lifesaving skills, helping them stay safe in and around water.

Water safety skills have never been more important for families, with around 300 people drowning in Australian waterways in 2020-21.

New swimming instructors are also being sought out for the upcoming programs, with a variety of opportunities available.

As South Australia moves into its sizzling hot summer, taking a dip in a pool is a welcomed treat to cool off from the warmer weather, but sun safety can be a concern for parents.

To help avoid Adelaidians turning a crispy shade of pink, many of the Holiday Swim venues have pool shades installed to keep our kids safe. The newest venue to upgrade its facilities is the Woodside Pool which built a brand new shade spanning half of the 25-metre pool.

Before booking you can check the sun-safety measures of each pool by calling the local council.
