EPIC 12 hour street party hits Glenelg this weekend

12 hour Glenelg street party hits the foreshore this weekend with live music and fireworks spreading good vibes along Jetty Road.

Wrestling, drumming monkeys, live music and fireworks will be a part of the 12 hour Glenelg Equinox Festival Street Party this Saturday 19 March at 11am.

The epic street party will also include fashion parades, food from your favourite Jetty Road traders, drinks specials, laneway activations, Fringe-style performers and buskers.

The festivities kick off on Friday afternoon, 18 March in Milton Street just off Jetty Road. 

Beach Burrito Co will be turning the street into a hub of fun, street dining and good vibes over three days, with DJ Yung Kurt getting the party started on Friday evening.

On Saturday the street party kicks into full gear from 11am.

Fun on the Foreshore will offer free activities for kids, including monster arts and crafts and The Amazing Drumming Monkeys performing live.

The Stamford Village Green will be set up in Moseley Square and Chapel Plaza is the place to be for lovers of fashion, jazz music and the latest tunes with DJ Filip with An F.

Nature Play SA will take over Cowper Street and kids can get creative by making their very own sunflower bee bombs and bee hotels, with Bricks4Kidz setting up a building zone in Nile Street 

Market lovers will find around 20 stalls to peruse at the Partridge Street intersection thanks to Gilles on the Ground.

And if that’s not enough, keep your eye on the sky as the evening ends with a colourful fireworks display, starting at 10pm.

Holdfast Bay Mayor Amanda Wilson is looking forward to marking the end of summer with a weekend to remember.

“Fireworks are back at the Bay and I couldn’t be happier.

“To get together and enjoy a Glenelg street party in all its glory is going to be amazing.

“With picture-perfect weather forecast, Glenelg is the place to be this weekend,” Mayor Wilson said.

The weekend’s events continue on Sunday, with the Glenelg Sunset Markets and another beach concert in the evening.
