The weather might be getting colder, but things are just heating up in Adelaide’s East End thanks to tonight’s Winterpalooza Street Party.
The event will take over Ebenezer Place and Vardon Avenue just in time for your Friday knock-offs, from 5pm to 11pm.
It will feature live entertainment and plenty of fire pits to keep you warm – although we’d still recommend bringing your cosiest jacket along!
Several local bars and restaurants will take to the streets, including East End favourites Mother Vine and The Stag Public House, as well as Hidden Brew Taphouse offering espresso martinis and meatball subs to fuel your night.
The team from East End Cellars will be slinging their famously delicious toasties, but this time Ruebens straight off an outdoor grill will also be on the cards.
Latino food experts La Taberna will be cooking up a storm with a range of Brazilian street food up for grabs, while the crew at Belgian Beer Café Oostende will be serving up paella and mulled wine.
Cosy drink specials will also be on offer to warm you from the inside out, like warm butter rum shots from El Cheeky Flamingo and the crew at NOLA Adelaide will be showcasing an assortment of South Australian whiskeys (we
suggest sticking around for some fresh sugar beignets topped with bourbon butterscotch sauce too – yum!).
If you’re a pickle fan, you’re also not going to want to miss BRKLYN’s pickle party, celebrating all things pickle (and we mean ALL things pickle – pickle hotdogs, pickle shots – you name it!).
The South Australian Tourism Commission says the Winterpalooza Street Party aims to energise the East End in the cooler months, at an otherwise quiet time of year for traders.
Belgian Beer Café Oostende’s Venue Manager Annie Medlen agrees and said “to continue the buzz on the East End through the colder nights is a fantastic initiative.”
“We’ll be waiting with open arms, mulled wine and plenty of vibes.”
So, grab your scarf and gloves and make the most of winter in the city – rain, hail or shine!
