Take the road less travelled and escape the summer heat with an Adelaide Hills getaway.

Sitting atop the highest peak in South Australia, Mount Lofty Estate was the location Arthur Hardy chose to build his summer home, Mount Lofty House, in the 1850s and a short trip up the mountain gives a clue as to why!

Situated less than a kilometre from Mount Lofty Summit, the temperature is significantly cooler up amongst the Sequoia trees and rambling manicured gardens over the summer months.

This summer, experience a raft of exclusive inclusions with their special Summer Package.

Relax, rejuvenate and unwind with a two-night stay from January to March.

With rooms available on the Summer Package from $499 per night, Mount Lofty House is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the Adelaide Plains, and the South Australian summer heat.

The Summer Package offers a bonus $600 value which includes a $300 dining credit, room upgrade, SA vs the world wine masterclass with House Sommelier and Adelaide Hills cheese masterclass with Sequoia Head Chef.

With an abundance of signature inclusions and unparalleled service, the grand country estate is warm and welcoming and it is easy to feel completely at home upon entering through the front door.

Sit back and relax with a signature welcome drink on arrival before being escorted through to your room by the guest service staff.

Enjoy a bottle of Summit Sparkling Wine in your room – made exclusively for Mount Lofty House by Adelaide Hills winemaker, Howard Vineyards – and a plate of house-made chocolate chip cookies made fresh every day to the secret family recipe of the General Manager, Jesse Kornoff.

After an afternoon of relaxing by the pool and poolside cocktails and nibbles, meet in the library of the house for the daily House History Tour, led by the Guest Relations Team.

The hour-long tour gives an insight into the rich and colourful history of the estate and its prominent South Australian owners.

Start the following morning with Mount Lofty House’s signature daily a la carte breakfast overlooking the stunning Piccadilly Valley before making your journey down to the beautifully renovated cellar.

Home to over 1000 varieties of wine, the cellar plays host to a Masterclass where Mt Lofty House’s team of passionate sommeliers share their different approaches to wine.

Sample wines from here in South Australia and all over the world and learn how to pick out aromas and subtleties in wines from spectacular regions.  With an experience that can be tailored to you and your own tastes, the class is incredibly informative and intellectual, whilst being a lot of fun too!

Settle into the Italian made leather dining chairs for a cheese lover’s delight, a Cheese Masterclass with Sequoia Chef. Experience some of the finest Adelaide Hills cheeses from boutique artisan producers such as Section 28, Woodside Cheese Wrights and Lilyarra.

What pairs best with a Section 28 Monte Diavolo? Should you serve the Lilyarra Goats Curd with fresh figs or an aged salami? Running for 45 minutes, the small group session is informative and interactive.

To top off the exclusive inclusions is a $300 dining credit for use in the multi-award-winning Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant.

Taking out a host of awards in 2021 including a spot in the Hall of Fame at last years AHA SA awards, Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant is a three-chef hat degustation restaurant set amongst the historic stone walls of the grand old manor and sprawls out onto Arthur Hardy’s spacious verandah, with unparalleled views across the rolling hills and Piccadilly Valley.

With a seven or four-course degustation available with matched wines handpicked by their team of Sommeliers, prepare yourself for experiential dining like no other.

After a long day of eating and drinking some of South Australia’s finest produce guests can explore the Mount Lofty Estate gardens, or take a stroll down to the neighbouring botanic gardens.

For those really looking to treat themselves an onsite spa ritual is an ultimate way to indulge the senses.
