The South Australian Living Artist Festival is about to begin across South Australia and to tie in with this jeweller and artist Shannon Cornish will open Ethos Gallery in the town of Woodside in the Adelaide Hills.
A dream years in the making, Shannon and her partner have been working hard for the past twelve months to renovate and lovingly restore their 1855 cottage, set to become the Ethos Gallery. Making the most of the original layout of the building, the gallery has been refined with a crisp white finish and stone feature wall, while still maintaining its original features and charm.
Ethos Gallery will showcase Shannon Cornish Jewellery as well as works from other local artists with an environmental and ethical focus. Part workshop, part gallery, visitors will be able to see Shannon and other resident artists at work.
Each piece of Shannon Cornish Jewellery has a story, whether it be custom made pieces for clients or Shannon’s personal collections. Inspired by nature, her beautiful freeform pieces almost always have a connection with the outdoors. She hopes that Ethos Gallery will inspire people, and by incorporating her workshop into the space will allow her customers to interact with her at work.
Ethos Gallery will open its doors to the public this Friday 30th July. Shannon Cornish works will be on display and resident artist Cathryn Marinos will join her to showcase her detailed cheerful paintings.
Ethos Gallery, open 7 days. 53 Main Street, Woodside SA. Phone 8389 7372 or 0418895513
