Willunga Almond Blossom Festival
The picturesque region of Willunga, south of Adelaide, holds a significant place in Australia’s almond industry history. It was here, in the early 20th century, that Samuel Strout planted the first seeds of what would become the largest almond orchard in the southern hemisphere.
Today, as almond blossoms begin to grace the landscape, the vibrant community of Willunga eagerly prepares for the annual Willunga Almond Blossom Festival on 29th and 30th July.
The Willunga Almond Blossom Festival brings together families and visitors from near and far to revel in a weekend of festivities, offering a wide array of attractions and activities.
From thrilling show rides and live music to kids’ crafts and games, market stalls, mouth-watering food and drinks, to fireworks display and almond-inspired activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The festival is a testament to the community’s unwavering commitment to preserving their traditions, supporting local businesses, and fostering a strong sense of camaraderie.
“By attending the Willunga Almond Blossom Festival, you not only get a fabulous and fun day out, but you also contribute to the sustainability of our local community,” event organiser Heather Williams said.
“Every dollar raised from the festival goes back into supporting the clubs and organisations that make Willunga Recreation Park thrive.”
