Gear up, South Australia! The 2023 Hostplus SANFL League is rolling out its red carpet for the most awaited event of the year – the Finals Series.
The Grand Final is slated for Sunday, September 24 at 2.30pm, Adelaide Oval will play host to a month-long football fiesta, kicking off with the Elimination and Qualifying Finals this Sunday, September 3.
For those who can’t make it to the iconic Adelaide Oval, fear not. Every League match will be broadcast on Channel 7, 1629 SEN SA, and will also be available for live streaming on SANFL Now and the official AFL App. So, whether you’re at home or on the go, the Finals Series excitement is just a click away.
In a consumer-friendly move, ticket prices for all finals will remain at their 2022 rates, and children under 18 can enjoy the matches for free.
SANFL Executive General Manager Football Matt Duldig said another close regular season has set the scene for what should be an entertaining finals campaign.
“We’ve been blown away by the level of support from fans to the 2023 Hostplus SANFL League home-and-away season and we’d love to see that support continue across the Finals Series and into the Grand Final,” he said.
“Crowds are up 14 per cent year-on-year, with 172,162 spectators watching the League competition to date, and that result has been in part to SANFL, clubs and our corporate partners working tirelessly to deliver the ultimate fan and gameday experience.
“These efforts will shift into another gear over the finals campaign with an action-packed calendar of off-field entertainment to add to the excitement; and we look forward to sharing some exciting news about the Grand Final entertainment program soon.”
The Finals Series isn’t just about the matches. An array of off-field entertainment awaits attendees, including the AAMI Chillout Zone, McDonald’s inflatables, SANFL footy inflatables, and much more. And for those planning to attend the first round of finals, there’s a few special treats in store for dads, courtesy of Attaboy Hair and Fleurieu Milk, in celebration of Father’s Day.
As the Finals Series approaches, the competition is heating up. While Glenelg, Sturt, and Adelaide have secured their spots, Central District, North Adelaide, and Port Adelaide are battling it out for the remaining two positions.
Last year’s Grand Final saw a whopping 27,459 fans in attendance, bearing witness to the nail-biting match between North Adelaide and Norwood. This year promises to be no different, with high stakes and high spirits.
Tickets for all finals, including the Grand Final, are available for purchase on Ticketek. On-the-spot tickets will also be available on match days. More details about the Grand Final ticketing and entertainment will be unveiled next week.
