The 2023 Hostplus SANFL League Grand Final kicks off this Sunday, and there’s plenty happening around Adelaide Oval for the big game.
The oval will be full of footy fever, with the SANFL Grand Final ‘Festival of Footy’ presenting loads of activities and events around the ground.
Glenelg and Sturt will go head to head for Thomas Seymour Hill premiership cup, which will be delivered by legendary sports broadcaster and Australian Football Hall of Fame inductee Bruce McAvaney OAM.
This will mark Glenelg and Sturt’s 4th Grand Final meeting, the last being in 1974. Glenelg will be vying for their 6th SANFL league premiership, while Sturt are seeking their 16th. Sturt have won their 3 previous Grand Final encounters in 1969 (65pts), 1970 (21pts) & 1974 (15pts).
Both teams split their 2023 encounters with the home team victorious. Sturt won by 31 points in Round One and the Glenelg produced the highest score 23.12 (150) and biggest win (105pts) of SANFL season in the Round Nine rematch.
