The District Council of Robe has announced that Design 5 by Omnitech is the winning design for the Robe Street Playground Upgrade – the clear favourite among the community.
This innovative design features a range of engaging elements, including nature play areas, a basketball half-court, a cubby house, and interactive rope activity nets – all designed to promote creativity and active play for children.

This exciting project isn’t just the council’s idea – it’s been a true community effort. The council conducted a design survey that showcased seven options and closed on September 16th, receiving a total of 214 submissions (188 online and 26 in person). The clear preference for Design 5 led to its endorsement by the council.
Construction is set to kick off in February 2025, and the community can’t wait to see this fantastic new playground come to life! The council has already met with the designers to finalise all the nitty-gritty details, like specifications and timelines. Once everything is locked in, they’ll share all the updates with the public.

The District Council of Robe has extended its thanks to the local community for their invaluable input during the consultation process. The project is expected to be completed by April 2025, with exact start dates to be confirmed once everything is finalised. Stay tuned for updates as this exciting transformation unfolds!
