Rachmaninov, Elton John, Tori Amos, Stevie Wonder. What do these four artists have in common? If you guessed “the ivory keys”… well, that’s obvious.

The piano has long since been regarded as one of the most popular instruments in the world, and Exclusive Piano Group is bringing the world of grand, upright and digital pianos, as well as orchestral instruments to Adelaide with their brand new Flinders Street showroom

Tony Jeffries is General Manager and has worked in music retailing for over 33 years and is excited to be launching the brand new Adelaide store. .

The Exclusive Piano Group commits to offering customers the level of support and service, expected from a company representing Steinway & Sons and the Family of Steinway-designed pianos.

“Along with Steinway and family of Steinway designed pianos, we have included a quality range of orchestral instruments” says Tony. “We figured there was an opportunity in Adelaide to showcase a range of quality orchestral instruments along with our pianos to offer a complete traditional line up of instruments and sheet music all in the one location. We focus on quality and value. The range is extensive and covers everything from well priced entry level instruments to world renowned Steinway pianos and family of Steinway instruments.”

Included in the new Adelaide store are workshops that cater for the servicing and repair of orchestral string instruments, brass and woodwind. Tony commented “We are delighted to have two of the best tradesmen available in Adelaide working with us. Tim Whelan, a legend in orchestral string circles oversees our string range and makes sure that every violin, viola , cello and bass we range is properly set up and ready play so customers can be confident that the instrument they buy will perform at the highest level it can right from the word go.”

“Jamie Capatch runs our brass and woodwind workshop. Jamie is a much sought after repairer and works on instruments owned by some of Adelaide’s leading musicians. We are confident that with Tim and Jamie on the team, we can guaranty the quality and the playability of every instrument we offer to our customers.”

The Exclusive Piano Group was formed as joint venture at the end of 2008 between Mark O’Connor and Lindsay Fox. Fox and O’Connor struck up a friendship, Fox often consulting with O’Connor who was a senior manager with Allans Music in Melbourne over music for private and charity events hosted by the Fox family. When the Australian distributorship for Steinway & Sons pianos became available, the pair saw a rare chance to go into business together, with Lindsay Fox funding the new company.

As well as cementing itself as one of the country’s premier piano retailers, Exclusive Piano Group is also giving back to the music community.

“One of the best things about the company, and certainly what made me want to work with EPG is that any profits that the Fox family makes from the company goes straight back into the music and arts community. It’s unheard of. I think it’s a wonderful thing,” Tony says.
