This exhibition contains a variety of works from established artists with differing styles. Of the five artists, not all appealed to me, but each of their individual styles was well rendered and apparent, with accomplished techniques.

Wayne Eager’s work is bold with a limited pallet. It is very patterned and graphic with a distinct masculine energy. Whilst this is not a style I enjoy, some of these works catch the eye and draw the viewer in.

Whilst also using a very limited pallet, Marina Stroochi is more decoratively graphic with a very earthy theme. Her work seems to centre on home and the gathering of food, with a more feminine touch than Eager.

Chris De Rosa’s work seems to consist of digital patterns overlayed with shapes, mostly round. She uses strong colours but I found little appeal in these pieces.

I found the works of Sarah Gabril much more to my taste. Some of these decorative pieces are done on Pianola rolls which gives them an extra depth. These are an illustrative style with birds and flowers and give a very pretty impression. The detail in each piece draws the eye.

The fifth artist is Tiel Selvi-Keeven who works with mixed media on paper, Tiel seems to favour patches of colour and patterns merged into an abstract design. They can be eye-catching but don’t evoke much of a response for me.

This is an interesting selection of works from some very accomplished artists, many don’t appeal to me, but you should check them out for yourself.
