Only a few tickets remain for an incredible bucket-list worthy event on Kangaroo Island this Friday (and if you’re feeling lucky, we’re giving two Glam Adelaide readers the chance to win flights and tickets!)
As part of Tasting Australia which kicked off last week, Kangaroo Island’s Oceanview Eco Villas are offering an intimate long lunch comprised of exquisite local produce paired with wines from the Island. The exclusive homestead offers an intimate setting with coastal views spanning far over Nepean Bay.
Owners Tim and Tamsin Wendt’s gorgeous venue has become a feature on Kangaroo Island for its deep sense of place, staying true to the island down to the smallest detail. Chefs source local produce wherever possible, and the Wendts consult with Island winemakers to create the perfect pairing for each dish. Even the restaurant and rooms themselves pay homage and respect to the Island, as environmentally-friendly and recycled materials (such as recycled fishing nets and milk containers) have been used throughout their lush, natural-looking interiors.
The long lunch as a part of Tasting Australia will be a true celebration of Kangaroo Island, along with Tim and Tamsin’s trademark hospitality. The day will start with a Kangaroo Island Spirits cocktail on arrival, followed by five courses featuring the very best island produce prepared by Dylan and Yolandi Pitallo. The Pitallos have over 15 years’ experience working in outstanding hospitality venues including Southern Ocean Lodge and Sunset Food and Wine.
Guests will also be able to meet and talk with the Kangaroo Island locals behind the produce and watch as the chefs prepare and plate each dish, providing a memorable and authentic Tasting Australia experience.
Best of all, there’s a chartered flight available for an additional fee, so getting there can be nice and easy.
