FRINGE: Experience a wedding like no other at Confetti & Chaos

In this 2-hour immersive comedy, audience members get caught in the crossfire of a surprise wedding party gone dramatically wrong.

Confetti & Chaos, the rowdy, wedding-themed comedy special that we gave 5-stars in 2024 and 2023 is back this Fringe season. Spanning 9 shows between March 7-16, ticket holders are cordially invited to a complete stranger’s wedding-turned pandemonium at the Adelaide Royal Coach in Kent Town.

Picture this: a surprise wedding reception for Will and Stacey has been organised by Stacey’s parents, Lynn and Ray, but the affair has gone belly up, with secrets spilling out as uninvited and misbehaving family members bust in, bust up and bust a move.

Over the course of this 2-hour immersive comedy, audiences get caught in the crossfire of a surprise wedding party gone dramatically wrong. Surrounded by quirky wedding guests like the overly friendly mother-in-law or the wildcard best man, you’re unlikely to attend another wedding that invites the charming calamity and tenderness of Confetti & Chaos.

The exceptional cast of Confetti & Chaos features Tiggy Duchense, Monique Lewis-Reynolds, Jack Newell, and Matthew Robson, all four of which play multiple characters.

“The ensemble cast of four bounce off each other brilliantly and their character work is exceptional”, said Ben Stefanoff, Glam Adelaide’s Arts Editor. “They all play multiple characters, each with different mannerisms, accents and costumes — if you blink, you miss it when one actor slips out of the room only to return as a completely different character.”

The rest of the cast is rounded out by you, the audience, who have the opportunity to interact with the cast during non-scripted sections.

“[The cast] all are quick on their feet when it comes to ad libbing. No matter what was thrown at them, they never dropped character and were never thrown off the script. Simply brilliant.”

Presented by Interactive Theatre International, a paid ticket to Confetti & Chaos also includes a scrumptious three course meal, just like one of their other programs, Faulty Towers The Dining Experience.

With a network of programs across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Europe, Asia, and North America, Interactive Theatre International produce and promote high quality, interactive comedy theatre, children’s shows, and cabaret around the world.

Confetti & Chaos is the second of three culinary-themed shows they’re presenting this Fringe season, alongside Signor Baffo and Faulty Towers.

Dinner theatre is no longer as common an art form as it once was, but Interactive Theatre International have put together a wonderful night of entertainment alongside a delicious meal by the staff at Adelaide Royal Coach, who’ve been praised for efficiency and professionalism in previous Confetti & Chaos seasons.

A quick tip from previous attendees: the carpark at Adelaide Royal Coach is small, so get there a bit early to avoid missing the action.
