Calling all ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’ fans! This winter, these cult classics will come to life at the Adelaide Town Hall.
That’s right, the hobbits are coming! On July 22nd, experience the best music from ‘The Lord of the Rings’, ‘The Hobbit’, and ‘The War of the Rohirrim’ live for the first time. Plus, this will be presented by a superstar guest from the films!
This experience will grant you the chance to enjoy the unique musical world of J.R.R. Tolkien in a magnificent concert featuring the voice of legendary Saruman actor Sir Christopher Lee and the Orchestra and Choir of the Shire.
Be immersed in the menacing sounds of Mordor and the shrill attack of the Black Riders to the beautiful, lyrical melodies of the Elves that you’ve come to know over the year. Then be treated to new music from ‘The War of the Rohirrimi’, the new LOTR film and prequel to ‘The Two Towers’!
This incredible event will take place at the historic Adelaide Town Hall.
“It is a very iconic venue, and for people to come and be able to experience it is fantastic!” shared a spokesperson from the Adelaide Town Hall.
“We’re just having our facade worked on at the moment so people will be able to see the building again from the start of August, which is exciting.”
The Adelaide Town Hall has had ongoing renovations since September 2023 and is expected to be completed by the middle of this year.
“Inside, it’s a beautiful space that people love to explore. It’s very popular with music events, dinners, weddings, people love the history. We do our town hall tours every Monday morning as well, so people come through from around the country to learn a bit more about the building.
“It’s such a family-friendly venue,” he shared.
With events like ‘The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit – In Concert’ it’s the perfect spot to bring down the whole family and spend an afternoon or evening getting involved in the arts.
“This winter, we’ve got heaps of events coming up. We’ve got our organ concerts that we do almost monthly or every two months. The organ concerts are great for kids as well, we have plenty of grandparents bringing their grandchildren to those.
“Our Mother’s Day high tea is coming up on Sunday, May 11th. We’ll have live music and high tea to celebrate all the lovely mothers out there.
“In terms of music, we’ve got lots of Adelaide Symphony Orchestra concerts and Musica Viva. There’s so much great stuff that the community can attend.”
