Experience the ultimate girls’ night out! This July Kellie Finlayson and the Jodi Lee Foundation are bringing a special movie and bubbly night!

Craving a night out with your girlfriends where you can sip on bubbly for a good cause? Well, we’ve got the perfect thing for you.

The Jodi Lee Foundation is teaming up with the Advertiser’s Inspirational Woman of the Year Kellie Finlayson to host the ultimate girls’ night out!

Taking place at the Eastend Palace Nova cinemas, guests can look forward to a fantastic night out full of bubbly, goodie bags and front-row seats for the premiere of the hotly anticipated movie of the year, Barbie, starring the Australian icon, Margot Robbie, and the world-wide heartthrob, Ryan Gosling.

As you and your girlfriends arrive for this event, you will be greeted with a complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival, a goodie bag featuring Go-To skincare, The Base by Lara Worthington and plenty more.

Each guest will also automatically go in the draw to win some amazing door prizes including the ultimate girls get together at the Sofitel Adelaide which is valued at around $3,000.

Focused on raising awareness for the prevention and early detection of bowel cancer, which is now the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in people aged 25-34, this event is set to be a fun night out for a great cause.

“Not only will guests be invited to the opening night of Barbie, but they will also have the chance to hear from Kellie Finlayson about her bowel cancer journey whilst juggling motherhood and planning a wedding, and why knowing the symptoms of bowel cancer could help save your life,” said Community Engagement Manager at the Jodi Lee Foundation, Samantha Brinsley.

The Jodi Lee Foundation is a national charity aiming to raise awareness for the prevention and early detection of bowel cancer. The Foundation was started in 2010, after Jodi Lee, wife and mother of two, sadly passed away from bowel cancer before her 42nd birthday.

Kellie Finlayson was a high school mathematics teacher, partner of Jeremy Finlayson (Port Adelaide AFL player) and mother to 3-month-old Sophia when her whole life upside down at 25 when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer.

Devastatingly, her cancer has sadly metastasized to the lungs and Kellie is undergoing a number of treatments, while she continues to have a positive outlook on life, she is now on a mission to raise awareness of bowel cancer and the fact it can impact anyone at any age.

“Bowel cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death in people age 25-34 and we hope by hosting this event, Kellie can share her own bowel cancer story and educate on symptoms and prevention tools, as 99% of bowel cancer cases can be successfully treated or even prevented if detected early.”

“We want people to enjoy themselves, the movie and the event as a whole, but most importantly, we want people to walk away with a curiosity to either investigate a presenting symptom with their GP, talk to their families of their cancer history or take a bowel screening kit.”

A portion of the proceeds from your entry ticket will go towards supporting the Jodi Lee Foundation to raise much-needed awareness for bowel cancer.

When: Thursday the 20th of July, the doors open at 6 pm, the movie starts at 6:30 pm.
Where: Palace Nova, East End Cinema, Rundle Street Adelaide SA.
